Tuticorin Port starts its new truck parking terminal and information centre

Union Minister for Shipping Nitin Gadkari recently inaugurated a truck parking terminal at the VO Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin under the ambitious Sagarmala Project. Built at a cost of Rs 23.69 crore, the terminal can handle up to 200 trucks. Minister of State for Finance and Shipping P Radhakrishnan was also present on the occasion.

Gadkari also inaugurated a Port Information Centre. Built at a cost of Rs 1.89 crore, the Information Centre has 60 LED panels depicting the evolution and growth of the port. It has touch screen kiosk systems containing in-depth information on Seaports, Shipping, Indian Ports, Exim Trade, Photo gallery and Video gallery.
